Rants written by Jessica Taul. As Jack Kerouac wrote, “the east of my youth and the west of my future”. I grew up in rural eastern Kentucky, but migrated to California at the ripe age of 24 and lived in California for a total of 25 years. I think I got the best of Northern California because it’s not the same as it was in 1988.
Californian in spirit now since I packed up and left on March 19, 2020 to relocate back to the Midwest (for now). I miss the hell out of it already, but there’s no looking back. Never look back.
Cresting my 50’s now, nearing the end of my professional life, with two daughters spreading wings in different parts of the country. I am getting ready for what’s next. Still one of my favorite sayings applies, “If nothing else, I’m resourceful.”
Like a true Capricorn, I have an overabundance of opinions to share with you.
